Cannot access to xivo web ui and Consul service down

Added by Nabila Salmi about 1 month ago

Hello,

I have XIVO software installed on a debian. The version of XIVO is Version : 16.13 "Five" on a Debian8 OS. The access to web interface of XIVO is not working with root.

I checked status of services and noticed that consul service is down. I tried to start the service, it failed. This is the output :

root@STVXivo2:~#service consul start
Job for consul.service failed. See 'systemctl status consul.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.
root@STVXivo2:~# systemctl status consul.service

Hi Nabila,

first of I would like to encourage you to try a version that is not 2 years old.

You can "reset" consul with the following commands.

wazo-service stop
systemctl stop consul
rm -rf /var/lib/consul/raft/
rm -rf /var/lib/consul/serf/
rm -rf /var/lib/consul/services/
rm -rf /var/lib/consul/tmp/
rm -rf /var/lib/consul/checks/
systemctl start consul
wazo-service start

This will remove all consul data and start fresh.

If consul still does not start it can be something about your configuration. I've seen instances of consul not working because of the hostname for example.

Hi Pascal,

Thank you a lot for your answer and sorry, i didn't reply soon, because i was on leave !

I tried your commands, and the consul service started successfully. I can now access my web interface !

Thanks really for your help !

Best regards,
Nabila
